Thomas Smith is a local media producer. A childhood obsession with adventure stories led him to travel extensively in college where he notably took the ferry from Tarifa, Spain across the Straight of Gibraltar to Tangier. Stuck without any knowledge of the Arabic or French languages, Smith was at first unable to return to Europe. A predicament unknowingly mirrored a decade later by the Indiana Jones franchise. Although quickly resolved, this, a night trek along the Camino de Santiago and a month in Rome, convinced him to use his artistic abilities to encourage everyday people into 'Practical Escapades'. Last year he published his first comic book, depicting an errant toy dinosaur brought to life. He also makes 'shoot-out' style YouTube shorts with a historical focus and edits photos into larger-than-life situations as a fictional cowboy called 'Ninja Eastwood'.
